ALL Broncos fans felt it yesterday! John Elway's call to the die hard Bronco’s Nation, come 30min early to Sports Authority Field at Mile High (seriously it's just Mile High) and make sure you wear ORANGE! I felt it in my bones, just as I think every other Broncomaniac did. This was going to be the turning point from an abysmal season last year. We were going to deliver the ass whooping to the Raiders that they delivered to us last year, TWICE! Hell even Terrell Davis flew back to Denver for the coin toss. After that though it was kind of down hill from there...
Don’t get me wrong, last night’s home opener did have a few moments. We took the lead early with a field goal. Eric Decker had a 91 yard kick off return for a touchdown. Brian Dawkins laid out some masterful hits like only “The Wolverine” can. However as I said though there were only moments.
Most of the first half the Offensive Line just got man handled. It seriously seemed like a barrage of blitz after blitz, causing Kyle Orton to either try and scramble or get sacked, which he did, four times. The Denver Defense also seemed to have the problem of stopping the run, because once again Darren McFadden ran for 150 yds.
It seemed as though the same problems that plaqued us last year under Josh McDaniels were still there. Denver got no help from the rushing game as we only ran for a total of about 35 yards. Knowshon ran for 22 and Orton ran for 13 cause he kept getting pressured from a collapsing Offensive Line. Orton’s numbers weren’t terrible throwing 24 for 46 and 304 yards, but if you watched the game those number don’t tell the true tale of a QB who just couldn’t find a rhythm last night.
Overall it was a typical Broncos / Raiders game. Pushing, smack talk, penalties up the whazoo. Overall a sloppy game on both teams part. The Raiders just happened to get the better of us. I am hoping Fox can help fix some of these major issues with run blocking and better game plan preparation before next weeks home game against Cincinnati.
Last night was a sobering wake up call to all Broncos fans that no matter how much we ALL love our Broncos we’re still rebuilding. Let’s just hope that we can make the necessary adjustments here in the upcoming weeks to turn this season into a successful one.

I thought it was a terrible game. Neither team played well. Regardless; after 4 quarters of being man handled the fact that the Broncos were still in position to win the game says a lot. Fans wanting to see Tebow need to realize that they are undermining Ortons confidence. It was NOT all his fault. His numbers were actually decent considering his Offensive Line was man handled by the Raiders. The Broncos also lacked rhythm on offense and seemed to not be gassed. I think injuries will be a probably for the Broncos in the upcoming weeks....
